About me
EXTREMEÑA
Few roots, but deep ones. However nomadic I may be, my homeland will always be my homeland. Maybe that’s why El Miajón de los Castúos is my favourite poetry book — it’s written in castúo, the traditional dialect of Extremadura.
VILLA 31
From my time in Argentina I could choose La Viruta, the soda siphons, La Boca... but what truly left a mark was building bonds in Villa 31 while searching for stories for EFE Buenos Aires.
OPERA HOUSE
I spent a year working with this view. Not facing Pilar and Karla, but the Opera House. This was one of my flings with bodypaint before returning to Spain. My time in Australia and Argentina left a lasting mark on me.
EMPATHY & TEAMWORK
I come from a big family. The stereotype of being a bit crazy? Absolutely. But as the song goes, “We’re not crazy, we just know what we want.” They make me laugh, but above all they inspire me — a reminder that diversity and teamwork make us richer.
PASSION & RESILIENCE
As El Kanka sings, “Too much passion for what’s mine.” And it’s true: I throw myself into everything I love —including my work— with ridiculous amounts of energy. I also love pushing other people’s ideas forward. And if I fail, I keep a constructive mindset.
EXPLORER
I’m passionate about blending in, getting to know, discovering. My eyes light up — whether it’s in a remote village or a random encounter. This snapshot is from a volunteer project with Sri Lankans caring for elephants released into the wild after captivity.
SECOND PRIZE
Not exactly a believer, but I find traditions fascinatingly exotic. I won second prize —in the spirit of always improving— in a photography contest during Holy Week in Zafra. It’s officially recognized as a regional tourist attraction... you should go. A pure Almodóvar set.
GOOD PEOPLE
Hard to pick just one book, but you’ll love this one. Through powerful research and social experiments, it reinforces the idea that Homo sapiens are good by nature —as I try to be every day— and that building a better world is far from utopian.
LIFE IS MUSIC
I’m endlessly obsessive with musical references. It’s hard for me to pick one song, one band, one instrument... Still, nothing boosts my dopamine quite like The Cat Empire.
